They Came from Beyond Space

In “They Came From Beyond Space” (1967), a science team investigates odd, blue meteorites that happen to house alien beings of pure energy. These beings are from the moon and they take over the minds of every human they encounter—except for Dr. Curtis Hutton, who seems impervious to their influence thanks to a metal plate in his head. Can he save his girlfriend, Dr. Lee Mason, and the rest of Earth?
Based on the Joseph Millard novel “The Gods Hate Kansas” (1964), the film’s story has been described by some critics as “optimistic” compared to the extraterrestrial takeovers in films like “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” (1956 and 1978).
