Students will answer questions based upon the panels as they visit the exhibit.

The students will develop a general understanding of the exhibit.


Instructional Procedures

Distribute one questionnaire (Word doc) to each student to complete as they tour the exhibit.

Below are the questions students will need to answer:

  1. What date did President Eisenhower initiate the "People-to-people" project?
  2. What is the goal of the project?
  3. What city is the sister city to Salt Lake City in this exhibit?
  4. In what year did it become the sister city?
  5. Draw three of the Japanese symbols seen on the panel.
  6. Who met the Matsumoto visitors in 1968?
  7. What does "ohio gozaimuso" mean?
  8. Why was there animosity (bad feelings) between the United States and Japan?
  9. Who are the two men who reactivated (restarted) the sister city project?
