Summary:
Cashiering exercises adapted for MicroSoft Excel. The worksheets are self-correcting and use color coding to help students.

Students will develop basic business skills and explore a variety of business careers.

Materials:
Excel Worksheets attached. Students need computer access.

Background For Teachers:
The attached excel files are adaptations of the existing TLC cashiering exercises.

The worksheets use conditional formatting so the answer turns green if the student enters a correct value or red for a wrong value.

The first sheet in the workbook totals the student's correct answers for all the worksheets in order to simplify grading.

The worksheets get progressively more difficult in order to provide a challenge to students with good arithmetic skills.

Student Prior Knowledge:
Students need to know how to start Excel, open files, and move between cells and worksheets.

Intended Learning Outcomes:
Students will learn how to count back change using the least amount of coins possible.

Instructional Procedures:
As the students type in their answers, the spreadsheet will check their work and give immediate feedback.
