The Water Cycle - The Water Cycle Project

To show how you understand the water cycle, you should do a project. This could be a poster, diagram, a model, or a computer presentation from PowerPoint or Apple Works.

If you have access to a computer with the PowerPoint program (or some other slideshow software), you can make a nice presentation as follows:

Slide 1 The Water Cycle (include your name)

Slide 2 The Sun

Slide 3 Evaporation

Slide 4 Condensation

Slide 5 Precipitation

Slide 6 Collection

Include graphics and explain what each of these parts of the water cycle mean.

A diagram needs to show the water cycle with the parts labeled.

A poster can have cotton clouds and bright yellow lightning. Be sure to draw and label each part of the water cycle.

A large container like a cake pan with a lid can be used to make a model. Put some warm water inside to represent a lake. Add some land and mountains made out of clay. Tip the pan by placing a book under one end. Cover the lid and place a bag containing some ice cubes on top of the lid. Observe if the warm water evaporates and condenses under the lid and falls as precipitation.
