Rocks and Soils - What Kind of Rock Am I?
You know about the three major groups of rocks: Igneous, Sedimentary, and Metamorphic. You learned that Igneous rocks result from the cooling of magma (liquid rock). Sedimentary rocks form by joining smaller pieces of other rocks. Metamorphic rocks were once Igneous or Sedimentary rocks but have been changed by heat and pressure.
