Micro-Organisms - But Can You Prove It? - Conclusion

Now that the experiment is completed and you have collected all of the results it is a good idea to prepare a written summary or conclusion. This conclusion involves stating if your hypothesis was correct or not. A possible conclusion for the milk experiment is as follows:

Our hypothesis is correct. We have concluded that if milk is kept at room temperature then bacteria growth will increase. This was very evident in our experiment as the room temperature milk soured, thickened and increased in temperature. However, the refrigerated milk remained the same in smell, appearance, and temperature.

Note: Should you discover that your hypothesis was incorrect that is okay. The information gained is valuable and can lead you to a new hypothesis and experiments. This is the way scientists learn.
