Pre-Assessment
 
The teacher will take a poll of the things students' families do to reduce their food costs.  Ask the following questions.  The teacher may add additional questions if desired.
  1. How many of your families use coupons for food purchases on a regular basis?
  2. How many of your families have and use a monthly budget either written on paper or stored on a computer disk?
  3. How many of your families take major shopping trips with a planned shopping  list?
  4. How many of your families plan meals for 1-2 weeks at a time?
  5. What fruits/vegetables are harvested during September and October?
