Shopping-Unit Pricing


 

Summary:
The student will be able to compare the unit price of one item to another for the purpose of purchasing the most st cost effective product.

Food And Nutrition II
Standard 9 Objective 3

Discuss the factors that influence food costs/budget when meal planning.

Materials:

  • Calculator
  • Copies of Shopping – Unit Pricing graphic organizer/key
  • 2 jars of different size filled with blocks of equal size (or ‘like’ objects of teacher’s choice).

Intended Learning Outcomes:
The student will be able to compare the unit price of one item to another for the purpose of purchasing the most st cost effective product.
