Environment Review and Test

Summary

This is a review of the physical classroom environment for a preschool, first-aid procedures, and positive guidance techniques. Positive guidance techniques include ways to guide small children, such as redirection, time out, assertive discipline, and behavior modification. A test will be given following the review. The students will have already learned the information in periods previous to this one.

Background for Teachers

This is a review of prior lessons as well as a test. Feel free to add in the things that you have covered that are not on the test. I have made the review game questions very similar or the same as the test questions. It is surprising how much the students forget. However, if this bothers you, feel free to change questions around, using the same format for the game.

Intended Learning Outcomes

At the end of this period, students will have recalled the information that they have learned in the last 3 periods, writing this information on a test, as given by a teacher.

Instructional Procedures

• Review Game: Jeopardy. Make up your own game board, or even tape the cards onto the board under the correct column. The question and answer cards are in the attachment. • Test on the environment. See attachment. • Correct: Let them correct it themselves, telling them that you trust them to be honest. • Fix wrong problems: If there is still time, have them tell their neighbor about all of the ones that they got wrong and what the right answer is. Write down the explanation on the test next to the question.

Assessment Plan

The assessment for today is the test itself and their scores.
