This lesson provides students with an introduction to what a floor plan is used for and what a floor plan should include.
Please be familiar with the information covered on the attached note outline.
Students should be more familiar with the concept of floor plans and what they are used for as well as what they should include.
Have students take out their notes for this unit. Have them take notes from the outline on the overhead projector as you discuss each topic as a class. Once the notes are complete, hand out a copy of the text guide worksheet to each student. Have students turn to unit two in the textbook. Students should answer the questions on the worksheet as they read through the information in the unit. The answers can be found in the order that the questions are listed on the worksheet. Turn the rest of the class period over to the students to complete the worksheet. If time permits, correct the worksheet as a class and the end of this class period or at the beginning of the next class period.
Have struggling students complete only every other question on the worksheet.
Using the self-created answer key, correct the worksheet as a class. Each answer is worth 2 points for a total of 80 points (2 points thrown in if they have their name on their paper).
