Fashion History

Time Frame:
1 class period that runs 45 minutes.


 

Summary:
The students will view a PowerPoint presentation on fashion history and take notes on what they learn. They will then pick a fashion era and prepare a presentation on that era.

Discuss the history of fashion, the cultural influences and their impact on drastic fashion changes in each decade. (*STEM: Math)

Instructional Procedures:
Today's fashion is influenced by the fashions of the past.

The PowerPoint presentation will take up to 20 minutes, depending on how much time is spent in each era.
1. Students need to take brief notes on the notetaker worksheet.

2. After the PowerPoint presentation, discuss how today's clothing has been influenced by clothing of previous eras.

3. The students will be assigned to get into groups and pick a specific era to research and then prepare a 5-minute presentation.

4. The rest of class is spent on choosing eras and preparing for presentations.
