Participants will become Steven Spielberg for the day. They will be able to create a "movie" book trailer. Using the given cliff notes from book classics, students will put together a movie using ideas from the notes given.
Digital Camera, Digital Video camera, firewire, digital tapes, cliff notes, Moviemaker II software, laptop w/ Internet connection,a projector, and a creative mind.
Teachers need to know the basics of Moviemaker II, use of a digital camera, digital video camera, and curriculum knowledge they will be centering their project on. They will also know how to hook up a laptop/desktop to a tv or projector to present the finished project.
Students should know the basics of how to use a digital camera and digital video camera. They should have knowledge w/ how to research through the Internet. They should possess an inner Steven Spielberg within them waiting to get out.
Students will have the knowledge to create a movie or book trailer using a digital video camera, digital camera, and be able to import video, music, sounds, and pictures into Moviemaker II and create an entertaining and knowledgable trailer to present to the class to show collabration, creativity and understanding of the curriculum area they were creating their project for.
Basic Outline:
1- Introduction
2- Explanation of how the digital video camera works/firewire connection.
3- Introduce examples of what a "movie trailer" is and show finished student
trailers to spark creativity in students.
4- Do a brief review of Moviemaker II. Include the parts of the program,
to include tasks and collections, how to capture from a video device, import
video,pictures, audio, or music. Also, how to edit a movie including video
effects, transitions, and include titles and credits. Concluding in demonstrating
how to save completed movie called "rendering" to a computer, CD, e-mail,
web or send it back to a camera.
5- Now, allow students time to read through the cliff notes, design a storyboard,
create their movie trailers using the digital video cameras and import and
edit their completed video/pictures in Moviemaker II.
6- Share movies that were produced during the class period.
