2 class periods of 60 minutes each
Individual
Employability
Students will find and collect a portfolio of pictures that they can use throughout the trimester on a variety of assignments.
Teachers should have a working knowledge of what each room is and what they expect from their students' picture assignments.
This is the very first assignment of Interior Design I. It gives students a chance to look through interior design magazines and to differentiate between the different rooms of the home.
Students should be able to follow the directions on the assignment sheet, find all 30 pictures and organize them into the correct and corresponding groups. Also, students should be able to differentiate between a kitchen and a dining room; or a bedroom and a bathroom.
Hand out an assignment sheet to each student. Read through the entire assignment sheet as a class. Stress the importance of the second paragraph that states all the requirements of the picture. Show an example assignment if you feel it is necessary and helpful.
If you have a student that is struggling to meet the requirements of the assignment, cut down the number of pictures required per section.
Students performance will be assessed in the following manner: the assignment is worth 60 points total...5 points per picture. If the picture is in the correct section and follows all given guidelines, all 5 points will be awarded.
