Summary

This is an assignment that requires the use of the computer. It covers fibers, clothing customs, clothing and climate, fashion, and color. It can also count as an agricultural lesson.


Materials

Worksheet for each student. Access to the web.


Background for Teachers

To conserve paper, run off the worksheets and have students write the answers on their own papers.


Intended Learning Outcomes

Students will learn about various textiles and how they are made.

    Worksheet and key to use with the web site listed. All doc files can be saved and then used with Microsoft Word.

Hand out worksheets and tell students how to find the web site required for this lesson. Once in the lab, it will take about 10 minutes to help students find the lesson. If some students finish early, they can help others or look up other subjects on "Thinkquest". The teacher should look up the web site and Fabric Online lesson ahead of time because the directions to find it may change. Two students can easily share one computer to complete this activity.
