Background for Teachers

You should know what kinds of instruments children can make in a DAP setting. Look at the websites beforehand and decide what examples you want to use. Create examples for the students to see.

Intended Learning Outcomes

After this class students will understand the importance of creating a caring community of learners.(DAP) They will also have the needed visuals to use music as a way to create this needed environment.

Instructional Procedures

Power point presentation. The students will take notes. Then they will make a visual aid (such as a mouse for quiet singing or a lion for loud singing)or an instrument to create a caring community in the classroom. Finally they will create a song using a familiar tune and new words to help the preschool children work together as a class.

Assessment Plan

The students will not only turn in their instruments for a grade, but will also perform their songs in front of the class.
