Crisis Management Unit

Time Frame:
7 class periods that run 70 minutes each.


 

Summary:
This unit, Crisis Managment (CM), includes divorce, single/blended, violence, sexual violations, elderly, and grieving/death lessons.

Background For Teachers:
The textbook used is, "Strengthening Family and Self" published by Goodheart-Willcox.

Intended Learning Outcomes:
Analyze the factors leading to divorce, effects upon family members, and coping methods. Distinguish the characteristics of violence and formulate prevention and coping strategies. Explain the grieving process and interpret ways to develop a positive adjustment to loss.

Instructional Procedures:
The Crisis Management unit contains the following lesson plans: Divorce, Single Parenting/Blended Families, Violence, Sexual Violations, Elderly, and Grieving/Death.
