  • Adaptation of The Boy Who Cried "Wolf"
    Students retell a story to reinforce sequencing.
  • Author Study of Patricia Polacco's Family Stories
    Patricia Polacco’s family stories provide an interesting and neutral way to begin discussions about families. Students can make connections from their own family experiences to some of her family experiences.
  • Character Education Read Alouds
    Sharing quality literature provides the teacher with great opportunities for the class to discuss the interactions and feelings of people. It also allows the students to make connections based on their own feelings and experiences.
  • Fairy Tale Maps
    Students will begin to understand the concept of maps by describing the path that Little Red Riding Hood took on the way to Grandma's house.
  • Tortoise and Hare Races
    Using the The Tortoise and the Hare fable students will learn basic map skills.
  • Writing a Letter using the book Mole's Hill
    Use the book Mole's Hill by Lois Ehlert to create a interactive letter writing activity with the class and learn about problem and solution. Students will choose a character and write a letter.
