Pre-Assessment

As a pre-assessment, have the students draw the answers to the FIBER PICTURE QUIZ.  Have the students correct his/her own quiz.  Follow up the quiz with a discussion of foods containing fiber.  Have the foods that contain fiber in a basket and have the students sort the food according to the amount of fiber that they contain.  Remember pre-assessments are never graded.  Re-assure the students so that the exercise will not be threatening.

Ask:  What part of each food contains the fiber?
