Adding 2 to Numbers

Summary

Students will do a quick review of even and odd numbers. After the review, students will add 2 to the numbers 1 through 10.

Materials

• Smartboard
• Manipulatives
• +2 Worksheet

Student Prior Knowledge

• Students need to know numbers from 1 - 12.
• Students need to know how to count on from 1 - 12.

Intended Learning Outcomes

Students will know how to count on from 2 by using both manipulatives and number line.

Instructional Procedures

• Students will review odd and even numbers by using the Vortex on the Smartboard.
• Teacher will, using manipulatives, show students how to count on from 2.
• Teacher will, using the number line, show students how to count on from 2.
• Class will do Smartboard activiies together.
• Students will individually do a +2 worksheet.

Assessment Plan

Students will be assessed while playing the game and by doing an individual worksheet after the lesson is complete.
