Lesson Plans

Strand 2

Students will be introduced to elements of design, housing, interior design and apparel and how it impacts families, communities and careers.

Standard 2

Discuss how homes and businesses can be designed according to the activities, wants and needs of the occupants.
  • Interior Design, Lesson 5
    Floor plans show the overall room on paper and help you see how objects relate to one another in the room. Accurate measurements must be used to make sure everything fits within the room.
  • Interior Design, Lesson 6
    Students will summarize information learned from previous lessons, and apply them to their own project: redesigning their own bedrooms.
  • Uniqueness of the Home
    This lesson will help students recognize how homes can shape the way we live and how we live can shape our homes based on our wants and needs.
