  • CIA World Fact Book
    The U.S. government's complete geographical handbook, featuring full-color maps and flags of all nations and geographical entities. Each country profile tracks such demographics as population, ethnicity and literacy rates, as well as political, geographical and economic data.
  • Colors in Cultures
    Graphic showing what colors are dominant for expressing over 80 different concepts (love, luck, money, peace, etc.) in 8 different cultures.
  • Geographia
    New content is added regularly to this travel site. It's full of dozens of destinations in South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa, and the Caribbean. There is emphasis on culture, history, and geography as well as basic travel information.
  • Geography Along the Silk Road
    Lesson and unit plans for various aspects of the history of the Silk Road region, beginning with units on geography.
  • Lesson Plan: The Relationship between Language and Culture
    Lesson Plan from the New York Times exploring the relationship between language and culture, with a strong example from France.
