Students will be able to identify the four seasons (winter, spring, summer, autumn/fall) and the weather characteristics for each season.
Instructional Procedures
- Teacher will introduce the four seasons with a supplemental video.
- Students will learn some common seasonal terminology
- Students will graph their favorite season
- Students will learn the season poem
- Teacher will choose one season art project to do with the class
- Students will play seasonal online interactive games to review content
- Students will take the seasons quiz
Strategies for Diverse Learners
- This mini unit will incorporate audio learning, visual learning, and hands on learning strategies
- Students are able to learn the seasons via words, pictures, activities, clothing, and games
- Students are able to practice content knowledge at both school and home via the attached links
- Cross curricular strategies are incorporated into this mini unit
Extensions
Students who finish early may use a "My Favorite Season" writing prompt to integrate writing.
Assessment Plan
Students will be given a four question matching quiz. In this quiz, students will need to match the season name with the picture that best represents that season. The quiz will be worth 8 points (2 points per match).
