    The purpose of this web site is to help students learn about the Dewey Decimal System. It will act as a supplement to class materials in meeting objectives such as understanding the history of the Dewey Decimal System, the purposes of it, and the way it works.

Intended Learning Outcomes

Students will use location skills for finding print sources.


Instructional Procedures

After taking pre-test on computer. Show You-Tube video from teacher resources section. In pairs students will choose 3 subject cards and tape them on correct bookshelf ledge. Each pair will have copy of Dewey Decimal Infographic as a guide. (After pre-test, teacher will take screen shot of class results). Students will then find 3 different subject cards and check them for correct placement. They will put a colored sticker on any subject cards they feel are incorrect. As a whole group we will look at the cards with stickers and identify correct placement, if needed. Students will take same test and we will compare pre- and post- results as class.
