Summary

Using a template and the internet students will find information about an important historical figure and create a poem about him/her.


Materials

Historical Bio-Poem Template & internet access.


Intended Learning Outcomes

Students will learn about the personality and uniqueness of a historical figure and will also do active research on the internet.


Instructional Procedures

Each student needs the bio-poem template. Go over what you expect from each line. Let them use search engines on the internet and find the information that they need. These can be done on every unit that you have. I pick the key people or I let them pick from a list of names. I have the students type up the poem and print it when they are done.


Strategies for Diverse Learners

You can have your accelerated students do a powerpoint presentation with this. They can write the poem and add pictures and documents to it in a nice little presentation.

These are very easy to grade and assess. The template lays it out for you.
