Letter D Activities

 

  • Download the Letter D Pack and do a letter sort or another activity.
  • Using the large letter D template have your child glue on any of the following items:  
    Dill Seeds
    Dog Stickers
    Small donut die cut
    Dirt
    Denim Fabric
  • Make dirt cups 
  • Have Daddy Donut reading time. You can do this at home or invite dads to come to the class to read with a few students as they share donuts. Ask them to point out pictures starting with the letter D as they read.
  • Give your child(ren) some dimes and let them count by 10's as high as they can. Support them and model counting by 10's as needed.
  • Read a book about Ducks to your child and have them quack three times each time they hear the word “Duck” in the story.
  • Make signs and have your child(ren) post them around the house or in the classroom on things that start with the letter D (door, doorknob, dirt, dust, Dad, dirty clothes hamper, dishes, etc).
  • Tell your child(ren) about friends or family members who have names that start with the letter D.
