Letter R Activities

 

  • Download the Letter R Pack and select actvities that will engage and challenge your child(ren).
  • Using the large letter R template have your child glue on any of the following items:  
    Rice
    Ramen Noodles
    Rosemary
    Ribbon
  • Play a rhyming game - give pairs of words and ask the child(ren) to give a thumbs up if the pair rhymes or point their thumbs down if they do not rhyme. You could also play a memory game asking students to match rhyming pairs.
  • Read your child’s favorite nursery rhyme .
  • Make a raccoon paper bag puppet.
  • Have your child draw a rainbow picture and mail to someone they love.
  • Have your child(ren) count all of the red items they can find in your environment.
  • Help your child draw red rectangles. Make sure to emphasize that a rectangle has 4 corners and 4 sides, 2 long and 2 short.
  • Practice hopping like a rabbit or crowing like a rooster.
  • Cook some rice and eat with chopsticks
  • Sing “Row, Row, Your Boat”. Once they know the song, sing it fast and slow, quiet and loud.
