Letter Z Activities

 

  • Download the Letter Z Pack and select activities that will engage and challenge your child(ren).
  • Have your child color the letter Z template.
  • Sing or listen to the song Zippity Do Dah.
  • Gather up all the zoo animals you can find. Talk about the characteristics of the animals, what they like to eat, how they move, etc. Ask children to draw a picture of their favorite animal and label it with support as needed.
  • Act like your favorite zoo animal. See if someone can guess what animal it is.
  • Practice zipping jackets, backpacks, shoes, etc.
  • Walk in a zig-zag through your environment.
  • Try to figure out what words rhyme with zoo (you, moo, choo, chew, boo, etc.). Pick a zoo animal and think about things that may rhyme with those words as well.  
  • Sort animals into categories such as zoo animals, farm animals, pets, not animals. etc.
