Sarah spends time with an historian in Palm Coast Florida at the Florida Agricultural Museum learning about the pioneers who homesteaded in the 1890s. She tours the old farmhouse interior seeing how the family lived and worked. Roger uses acrylics to paint the front of the house including a fence designed to keep the chickens in.

Sarah and Roger take a summer road trip in the north east stopping along the route to see small towns, go sailing in Cape Cod, take in the view from Cadillac Mountain in Acadia national Forest and visit to the Bass Harbor Head Light Station which Roger decides to paint using acrylics to capture the rugged location.

Painting and Travel take to the air during the Albuquerque, New Mexico Hot Air Balloon Festival where hundreds of balloons come from around the world to participate. Roger describes the process of creating a 100 foot tall balloon mural on the side of a hotel. He also paints a scene of a colorful balloon in flight using acrylics.

Roger and Sarah cruise to Ketchikan, Alaska visiting the downtown area before heading off to Glacier Bay National Park. Roger paints a vessel in the marina used as a fishing tender when he returns to his studio. The cruise is peaceful and scenic along the way to the glacier field where they watch a glacier calving.

Sarah and Roger are invited to visit a large cat rescue in Mims, Florida. The owner introduces Sarah to the youngest member, Ralph the Tiger. Sarah also meets the larger lions and tigers and learns about their diet and care. Roger takes pictures of the handsome cub back to his studio and paints Ralph's portrait.

Roger and Sarah travel up the eastern coast line of Michigan arriving in the village of Mackinaw City. Sarah tours a retired U. S. Roger and Sarah Bansemer travel to Skagway, Alaska, the northern most location in the "Painting and Travel" series so far. Sarah explores the old Victorian downtown area with its wooden boardwalks and then rides the White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad for a trip through the magnificent mountain scenery. Back in his studio, Roger uses oils to create a painting of the downtown area with emphasis on perspective and atmosphere.

Leaving from St. Johns, Newfoundland, Roger boards the Russian ship, Keldysh and spends the next two weeks at sea over the site of Titanic to create a number of original paintings. While inside the deep sea submersible some 12,500 feet below the surface he uses acrylics to work on paintings while actually hovering over the bow of the ship.
