Bandwidth upgrades: 2016-03-01 @ 11:00 PM Description: Networking staff will be introducing a new backbone router to the Downtown Datacenter and increasing bandwidth capacity on some links

Reboot Device: 2016-03-08 @ 11:00 PM Description: We need to reboot a device at our EBC POP site.

Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: This device has mainly T-1's, back up links, and management connections. The customers that are connected will drop and be unavailable for the duration of the reboot.
CentraCom Outage: 2016-03-10 @ 12:00 PM Description: CentraCom network is experiencing issue, They are unclear of what the issue is but do have engineers who are troubleshooting now.
Update: This outage was resolved at 1:29 PM. Impact: This is all centracom connected ciruicts in multiple areas.
Millard school district is having connectivity issues as well as Sites in the UVU area.
Emery Telcom Maintenance: 2016-03-11 @ 2:00 AM Description: Relocating equipment from and fiber cross connects from the C7 data center in Lindon, UT to ViaWest data center in Lindon, UT due to closure of the C7 facility.
Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: Circuit ID 777-xxx-xxxx, 10 Gbps connection from USU Eastern (Price) to UVU (Orem), will be down while existing trunk fibers are spliced into new patch panels and DWDM equipment is moved from one facility to the other.
The 1 Gbps connection from USU Eastern to USU Uintah Basin in Roosevelt will remain up during this maintenance.
We sincerely apologize for the need to perform this maintenance and for the impact to your service. Center7 has opted to close their data center in Lindon and this has required Emery Telcom to secure an alternate equipment and fiber location and, due to the distances and specific equipment involved, a hot cut and move of existing equipment is required.
Tooele DO equipment move: 2016-03-11 @ 8:00 PM Description: UEN is assisting the Tooele County School District IT staff with moving core network devices and connections into their newly remodeled data center located in the District Office. As part of this move, all connected services into the DO will experience an interruption in service while the equipment is relocated

Multiple Backbone Device Upgrades: 2016-03-17 @ 11:00 PM Description: UEN will be upgrading IOS code on a number of devices throughout this maintenance window in order to remedy a minor software bug we have been experiencing on these devices. This process will require that each device will need to be rebooted and will cause connectivity loss for some UEN customers.
Areas of effect include the following POPs: UVW, EBC, UVU, and SLCC. (https://weathermap.uen.net)

Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: Short-term and limited outages should be expected for some UEN customers who do not currently have redundant links back to the network. Each outage will last approximately 5-15 minutes and will occur at some point during the maintenance window.
Centracom Major Outage: 2016-03-17 @ 10:30 AM Description: We are experiencing a wide-spread outage of Centracom connected circuits. We are currently trying to contact them, but even their phone services appear to be impacted at the moment.
More updates will be provided as we get them.
Update: UPDATE 1: We were finally able to contact the Centracom Operations Center, and were told they are aware of the issues, but are still working to determine the root cause and still do not have an ETA for service restoration.
Update: 2: Connectivity associated with this outage has been restored, however we are still waiting to hear from Centracom what the root cause of the failure was in this case.
Update: This outage was resolved at 2:45 PM. Impact: Multiple sites in Utah, Millard, Sanpete, and Sevier counties are offline.
Emery Telecom Outage: 2016-03-23 @ 10:25 AM Description: Emery Telecom connectivity for the Price area was impacted by a power outage. A large majority of Emery circuits went offline. Most have now returned to service. We are looking into why Emery devices were not on backup power.
Update: This outage was resolved at 10:49 AM. Impact: We lost all connectivity from Price and to the south-east of the state. Once emery circuits came back, we had degraded service because of oversubscription issues in the basin. Service was finally restored to normal around 10:40a
Centracom Outage - UVU POP: 2016-03-23 @ 3:45 PM Description: Centracom has confirmed with us that they are experiencing an outage. Their engineers are looking into this now. Several circuits are down including the Millard School District and various charter schools that connect via our UVU POP. We will update as soon as we know more.

CentraCom Maintenance: 2016-03-23 @ 12:00 AM Description: Relocating fiber in Ephraim.
Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: Customers in Ephraim and south down the highway 89 corridor to Marysvale may experience a 15ms hit during the maintenance window. No outage is expected.
Reboot of EBC Backbone Device: 2016-03-26 @ 12:20 AM Description: UEN will be rebooting a backbone device at the EBC POP which is found to be causing issues for some connected networks.

DDC Card Failure: 2016-03-31 @ 11:00 PM Description: We have a card that is failing in our DDC-PEP-B device at our DDC pop site.
Update: This maintenance will begin in 5 minutes.
Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: Customers should not notice any issues during the card swap. We will lose our connection to our Zayo IBR, some internal tools and links, everything is redundant and should not be impactful.
