Major Outage Effecting SNO, NSP, and SSP: 2025-08-11 @ 11:45 PM Description: At around 11:45pm on Monday we lost connection to our Backbone devices at Snow College.
Update: This outage was resolved at 7:58 AM. Impact: This outage Is effecting our main devices at Snow, North Sanpete, and South Sanpete.
It appears to be an issue with centracom. We are trying to contact their on-call.
UEN CBRS and Backups network maintenance: 2025-08-13 @ 5:00 PM Description: Network maintenance for the cbrs and backups network equipment.
Update: This maintenance will begin in 5 minutes.
Update: This maintenance completed at 7:18 PM. Impact: These are intended to be non-disruptive software upgrades but short outages may occur if routes or paths change during the maintenance.
Power outage in Ogden/Weber area: 2025-08-13 @ 3:00 PM Description: A wildfire near Willard Peak has caused multiple power outages in the Ogden/Weber area. Fire and Power crews are addressing the issue currently, we will continue to monitor the situation.
Update: This outage was resolved on time. Impact: Some K-12 schools, charter schools, and libraries in the area.
UEN Datacenter/hosting network maintenance: 2025-08-16 @ 7:00 AM Description: DDC and EBC Datacenter network equipment will be upgraded to latest recommended releases.
Update: This maintenance will begin in 5 minutes.
Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: All UETN datacenter hosted services could be impacted but upgrades are meant to be non-disruptive to public facing traffic. Some internal services may go offline for 10 minute periods throughout the maintenance window.
UTN Firewall Outage: 2025-08-28 @ 5:30 PM Description: UTN and NOC staff observed an issue with the UTN firewall(s) and began investigating.
Update: An out of memory condition hit the UTN firewalls. This caused the firewalls high availability process, and one of two routing processes to hang where both firewalls became non-functional. We restarted the B device and shut down A. This is temporary measure as A can still cause B issues.
*We are planning on reloading the A firewall at 10pm this evening to get it back to a stable condition.*
Update: This outage was resolved on time. Impact: Currently all of the UTN network is affected.
Outage Types:
Outage: An observed outage, not scheduled.
Normal: A planned outage, 24 hours in advance.
Urgent: A planned outage, 12 hours in advance
Emergency: Immediate outage required
Third Party Maintenance: A planned outage performed by an organization other than UEN
