Strand 7

Students will practice family financial planning as it pertains to saving, investing, and risk management.

Standard 4

Discuss the dynamics of saving and investing. (GFL 3.2)
  • Finance
    Students will understand investing, the Stock Market, investment strategies, protecting investments, and buying and selling investments.
  • Retirement
    Students will understand the financial preparation for retirement, including financial resources needed, characteristics of retirement plans, and the role of individual responsibility in planning for retirement.
  • Savings
    Students will understand the value of savings, identify ways and reasons to save, and how government regulations protect savers.
  • Savings vs Investment
    Students will understand the value of savings and investments including the aspects of risk, return, liquidity and costs inherent in each. They will also understand appropriate financial products for different financial goals.
