Speaking and Listening (3.SL)

Students will learn to collaborate, express and listen to ideas, integrate and evaluate information from various sources, use media and visual displays as well as language and grammar strategically to help achieve communicative purposes, and adapt to context and task.

Standard 3.SL.3:

Use age-appropriate language, grammar, volume, and clear pronunciation when speaking or presenting.
  • Name Tag Glyphs
In this lesson, students practice a way to communicate without words by using a glyph. They create a name card using information about themselves. Students also interpret glyphs made by others.
  • Nouns - singular, plural and possessive
This is a lesson plan where students create a project in Apple Pages on iPads with pictures and labels describing singular, plural, singular possessive and plural possessive nouns.
  • Winter
This lesson is designed for beginning writers to develop an understanding of opinion/persuasive writing. Students will examine a piece of work written by an author using opinion writing. Students will be guided through how to use a graphic organizer to help organize their writing and to assure all the proper elements have been included in their opinion writing. Students will be able to demonstrate competency towards standard by generating written or pictorial responses."Winter" by Sarah Mitchell, February 2022, Public Domain.
