Develop and strengthen writing as needed by planning, revising, editing, rewriting, or trying a new approach, focusing on addressing what is most significant for a specific purpose and audience. (Editing for conventions should demonstrate common of Language standards 1-3 up to and including grades 9-10.)

Real World Writing: A Strategy for Developing Ideas
Real-world writing allows students and teachers to connect the dots between writing in the classroom by classifying writing into six areas: Express and Reflect; Inform and Explain; Evaluate and Judge; Inquire and Explore; Analyze and Interpret; Take a Stand/Propose a Solution.

Using Protocols to Enhance Student Collaboration
Students use a Tuning Protocol to give and receive peer-to-peer feedback on student writing in a structured, safe environment.
