Strand 2: MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL HEALTH (MEH)

Students will identify and practice strategies that promote positive mental and emotional health.

Standard 4.MEH.1:

Identify healthy ways to manage and reduce stress (for example, exercise, hobbies, mindfulness, time management, organization).
  • Stress Dolls
    Students will compare responsibilities, opportunities and expectations of pioneer children to their own lives. Students will identify sources of stress and ways to alleviate stress.
  • Wise Mind
    This video describes the DBT-Skill of Wise Mind. This video was made possible through funding from the Rutgers Center for COVID-19 Response and Pandemic Preparedness.
  • Zones of Regulation Lesson Using Keynote
    This lesson is a social emotional learning lesson and was created by Taylor Arney, school psychologist. This lesson covers the Zones of Regulation framework and is to be used in conjunction with Apple's Keynote application.  The lesson covers each of the 4 zones in the Zones of Regulation Framework, and then gives students the creative freedom to create their own visuals for each of the four zones (red,blue, green, and yellow).The image used for this lesson comes from Nik at Unsplash!
