Strand 5: NUTRITION (N)

Students will develop personal healthy eating habits and positive body image. Students will also recognize global food resources.

Standard 6.N.1:

Locate age-appropriate guidelines for eating and physical activity.
  • Exercise and Nutrition
    The students will understand how a healthy diet and regular exercise can help them to be healthy and happy, both physically and mentally.
  • Food...The Fuel that Keeps our Body Going
    This lesson helps the students to understand how foods affect their body. We will be focusing on the benefits of healthy food and why it is important to eat such foods. Each student will be given the opportunity to bring in a healthy food to share with the class and talk about how that food affects certain parts of the body.
  • Good Food, Bad Food
    Children will be able to identify healthy foods and non-healthy foods. They will be able to have fun while learning and being active. The children will also be able to use there own language to teach their fellow classmates new words for the pictures.
  • Heath Education Nutrition and Fitness
    Objective 1. Foods that comprise a healthy diet. Physical activity to maintain optimal body weight.
