Students will apply knowledge to reduce risk factors and enhance factors that promote positive mental and emotional health.

Standard HII.MEH.6

Use accurate information to formulate a health-enhancing message for mental health and suicide prevention.
  • Advocacy Through Letter Writing
    Students will develop an advocacy plan for a local, national or global health problem. Students will write a letter as part of their advocacy plan.

    This lesson is written as an interdisciplinary unit for both the Health and Language Arts classrooms. It can however, be taught in just one of the classes.

  • Mental Health Matters
    At the conclusion of this lesson, students will understand the continuum of mental health and recognize the warning signs of mental health problems.
