Students will evaluate decisions and influences about substance use. Students will also learn to speak with health care providers, research legal consequences, and analyze facts and resources for substance abuse.

Standard HII.SAP.4

Evaluate the physical, mental, emotional, social, legal, and financial impacts of the use or abuse of alcohol, tobacco, nicotine and other drugs on self, families, and communities.
  • EDU 1010 Lesson Plan: Health Education II

    Students will demonstrate health-promoting and risk-reducing behaviors to prevent substance abuse. Students will also demonstrate independent research to find academic information. 

  • Tobacco 101
    This lesson will help students understand the short and long term effects of using tobacco as well as why it is addictive.
  • Uppers, Downers and All Arounders
    This lesson will help students to understand how alcohol, tobacco and other drugs affect the human body and can impair an individual's actions.
