Strand 5: NUTRITION (N)

Students will develop lifelong strategies for healthy eating, body image, and understanding the food environment around them by locating and using accurate evidence-based nutrition information.

Standard HII.N.2

Demonstrate how to balance caloric intake with caloric expenditure to maintain, gain, or reduce weight in a healthy manner.
  • IPad Health Lesson
    Students will develop a healthy weight management plan by using the iPad as a way to manage intake and outtake of calories/nutrients. They will also track their exercise and calories burned throughout the day.
  • Nutrients
    Students will learn about the 6 basic nutrients. They will then learn how to keep track of there food intake using a food tracker app on the ipad. Through this information they will be able to analyze their diet and make corrections where necessary.
