Summary

Many explorers played a part in the Age of Discovery. This lesson is meant to give students a basic understanding of several explorers who were central to the Age of Discovery.

Background for Teachers

Have a basic knowledge for the explorers covered in the WebQuest. Also, check the links to be sure they work.


Student Prior Knowledge

Students need a basic knowledge of what the Age of Discovery and what were some of the causes of the time period.


Intended Learning Outcomes

The purpose of this WebQuest is to achieve a general understanding of some of the most influential figures during the very important period of time known today as the Age of Discovery.


Instructional Procedures

Provided 2-3 daye in the computer lab to complete the WebQuest. All directions are provided step by step with in the WebQuest.


Strategies for Diverse Learners

Students are able to work at their own pace and with Internet access can also work on the assignment at home if more time is needed for individual students.


Extensions

This WebQuest is 2-3 days in a larger unit on the Age of Exploration and Discovery.
