Backbone Maintanance: 2019-04-02 @ 11:00 PM Description: UEN NOC will be upgrading IOS on 2 6880 backbone devices.

Utah Valley Wasatch
UVU maintenance: 2019-04-04 @ 12:00 PM Description: UVU is working with a vendor (TBS) to replace the data center floor panels at the Heber (Wasatch) campus on Thursday & Friday next week April 4th & 5th. We do not anticipate any outages or issues during this time. The old floor panels are de-laminating and damaged. Work will begin around noon on Thursday and should be complete by Friday afternoon.

BOX-PE Reload: 2019-04-08 @ 11:00 PM Description: The BOX-PE 6880 needs to be reloaded to clear up CPU usage.
Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: Box Elder SD and all sites served by BOX-PE will experience downtime during the reboot. Relevant stakeholders have been contacted and are aware.
BYU Ciena Card replace/reseat: 2019-04-08 @ 11:00 PM Description: The Ciena node at BYU needs a card reseated and possibly replaced.
Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: This will take down BYU's 20G service to DDC. Mark Anderson with BYU has been contacted and is aware.

Roosevelt to Vernal conversion: 2019-04-11 @ 11:00 PM Description: Will be changing the Roosevelt to Vernal link to a routed point to point vs a trunk.

Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: The link between UBR-PE-A and UBV-PE-A will go down for a brief moment while changing some configs. Links there are redundant and traffic will reroute.
ASR Route Reflector Code Upgrade: 2019-04-11 @ 11:15 PM Description: I will be upgrading code on one of our three Route Reflector devices.
Update: This maintenance will begin in 5 minutes.
Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: BGP neighbor-ships for our PE routers for one peer will go down, this will not impact traffic or any other services.
ASR Code upgrade: 2019-04-11 @ 11:30 PM Description: I will be upgrading code on the DATC PEP-B device. After the upgrade I will be rolling back to the previous version of code until the other two Route Reflectors have been upgraded.

Fibercut: 2019-04-16 @ 3:40 AM Description: Several links between EBC and DDC have been cut.
Update: This outage was resolved at 6:52 AM. Impact: The links are redundant and data is routing past the down links, but there is the possibility of lower bandwidth issues and local outages, specifically at the U.
Cisco UCCX Finesse update: 2019-04-16 @ 11:00 PM Description: We're updating the voice prompts and scripts

Update: This maintenance completed at 11:36 PM. Impact: low to medium. all the prompts and scripts have been tested.
Fiber Cur in SLC: 2019-04-16 @ 3:40 AM Description: Several links between EBC and DDC have been cut. Also there are circuits between EBC and Level 3 and EBC and UVW.
Update: UEN field crews and local city authorities are working together to discover the exact location of the fiber cut and coordinate the repair. The situation is ongoing and we will provide more updates as they come in.
NOTE: The EBC<-->LV3 and EBC<-->UVW outages were false positives, those backbone links are up and passing traffic.
Update: Update: Fiber Splicing to begin at 9PM. Current ETR is 4 AM.
Update: This outage was resolved at 4:17 AM. Impact: The links are redundant and data is routing past the down links, but there is the possibility of lower bandwidth issues and local outages, specifically at the U.
Update Note:
Sites that may be impacted that are currently known are Utah Board of Regents, and the University of Utah. UVW may also be impacted. The links are a 40 GB link between EBC and Level 3 and a 40 GB link between EBC and DDC. There also appears to be a link to UVW as well. We are working on a resolution and an ETA.
DATC Device removal: 2019-04-18 @ 11:00 PM Description: We have three backbone devices up int the Davis Technical College POP.
One of them is an old 6504 that we used to terminate T1’s. We are no longer supporting T1’s and we will be removing the device.

Beehive Outage in Bicknell: 2019-04-24 @ 3:00 PM Description: The Blackridge site took a lightning strike that knocked several pieces of equipment out temporarily.
Beehive able to get all sites but Bicknell back up. (Bicknell feeds Hanksville and possibly Capital reef)
They have replacement parts coming in tomorrow to help rectify the situation.
