Strand 2: MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL HEALTH (MEH)

Students will develop a foundation of knowledge related to reducing risk factors and enhancing factors that promote positive mental and emotional health.

Standard HI.MEH.1:

Explore a variety of stress management techniques and choices that will manage and reduce stress.
  • Don't Let Stress Get You All Wet
    At the completion of this lesson students will be able to: identify situations that trigger stress; distinguish between eustress and distress; describe the stress response and how it influences performance; and develop strategies for managing or reducing stress.
  • Don't Worry, Do Something, Then Be Happy
    This lesson helps students develop strategies for managing or reducing stress.
  • Identifying Stress and Developing Coping Skills
    Students will be able to identify and recognize the stressors in their lives. Students will be able to identify ways to deal with and cope with stress in their lives.
  • Just Relax
    Students will identify the benefits of relaxation and recognize ways to relax the body and mind in this lesson.
