Intended Learning Outcomes

Labor and delivery. An epidural is the most commonly used anesthesia. Terms: stages of delivery, dilation, afterbirth, obstetrician; pediatrician, episiotomy, nurturing and bonding/postpartum. Define nurturing and bonding. Touch is critical in the bonding process. Postpartum symptoms.

Day 1: Journal, Text, Video Clip -- Father of the Bride 2, Unit Notes and Discussion, Video Clip -- The Incredible Human Machine by National Geographic. Day 2: Fieldtrip to Hospital
